Paintings by Melanee O’Hagan
When I look at Melanee’s work, I am immediately drawn to the energy and the movement in it. The bold brushstrokes of the background elicit the feeling that there is a wind stirring the leaves. The trees themselves are more elegant, with their curvy branches and the thoughtful textures which represent leaves. The colors make me wonder if the trees are on fire. All of these things serve to create an interesting contrast that leaves me feeling an intense passion emanating from the artwork.
Thanks, Melanee, and keep up the good work!

I think of fire when I see these images. They are popping out in color. Kudos to the artist. Great job!
I am intereted in knowing more how Melanee chose Tree as the primary object in both her paintings. Does she study a certain type of tree and create the paintings? or the trees in both paintings represent something else that is relevant to her personal life?
Thank you for taking the time to comment on my work, it’s really exciting and revealing for me to share it out loud. I really like the diversity that trees offer. They are one basic form that appear in so very many different ways. I feel like that invites me to create my own version, I take liberty in the leaves and leave the framework to be it’s bold, strong self.
We are here to witness your growth of creativity. Displaying art works almost like sharing a private part of ourselves in the public eyes. It takes great courage to allow ourselves to be vulnerable. Maybe how the tree trunk and leaves evolve in your artworks will lead you to an exciting personal growth.
