About Us

Creativation Space is curated by a group of visual artists, writers, sculptors and creative art therapists whose common goal is to build an encouraging and motivating space for artists who would otherwise not have a venue for their talent and output.

Our moderators include the following:

KiaKia writes poetry, fiction and essays, and envisions Creativation Space as a nurturing environment for emerging artists and writers. She works in finance but maintains passions in cooking, traveling, writing and multisports. She maintains a food and travel blog at dopaminejunkie.org and a poetry and photography art project at litratula.com. When she’s not working,  food styling or training for triathlons, Kia enjoys home improvement projects, photography, food adventures, and The Ethicist. More about Kia here.

Kanako ShimuraKanako works as a graphic designer for a houseware company, but pursues drawing, sculpture and photography on the side. Kanako focuses on handcrafted art as opposed to more popular computer-centric design. She chronicles travel and food adventures with her partner at kanannie.com and sees Creativation Space as a network for artists to build supporting and motivating relationships. During her spare time, she enjoys playing video games, trying new recipes, and biking around the city. Some of her work may be found here.

Yi-Hui ChangYi-Hui hopes Creativation Space becomes an environment where the public audience bears witness to the growth of artists. Yi-Hui Chang is a Licensed Creative Art Psychotherapist in New York State.  She specializes in supporting creative expression for emerging artists as well as clients who find verbal language insufficient to convey their ideas and world view.
